Valentine's Day

I love to make treats for Valentines Day.  It is usually soft sugar cookies with buttercream icing.  Yum!  This year I made cookies and then I decided to try Truffles.  They were actually not really hard.  A little time consuming, about 11/2 hours from start to finish for about 53 Truffles. It was a learning experience and I will know next time what to do better.

Here is a picture of the finished product.

The years fly by so fast.  Sean is such a great example to those around him.  We are so lucky to have him in our home.  He has a VERY contagious laugh and is such a joy to be around.  Don't get me wrong, he also has A LOT of sarcasm.  Celebrating his birthday brought back memories of the day he was born.  It was a Sunday much like this day and as I looked out the window there were snow flurries, same as there were 11 years ago.

On to the fun stuff; Sean wanted a homemade funfetti cake, well from a box, but I made it.  The cake is on a rotating silver stand that plays Happy Birthday. ( It was Grandma Suzi's Grandma Chloes cake plate)

Some of the presents he wanted was a new bike helmet so he could ride his ripstik and a DS game and also lasertag(Just like the 80's but better).

I also surprised him and got him tickets to go and see the Harlem Globetrotters.  Yes, they were here in Richfield.  He was able to share that experience with his Dad, Lizz & Stockton.  They stayed after the game and got autographs and a picture, which is on my cell phone.  They had a blast.  Happy Birthday Sean!!
